First Christian Church at Brockhall (FCC) is an independent Christian church with a nearly 100-year heritage in the Restoration Movement. Founded in Capitol Heights in 1912, the church moved to Upper Marlboro in 1971. At FCC, we believe that "a river is purest at its source," and so when it comes to church structure and life, we strive to model ourselves after the church we read of in the New Testament. Acts 2:42-47 says the church "devoted itself to the apostles' teaching, to the breaking of bread, to fellowship and to prayer." We strive to do the same. The early church was governed by local elders (Acts 20:13ff; I Timothy 3), gathered together on the first of the week (Acts 20:7ff; Hebrews 10:25), and participated in communion together as often as they gathered (Acts 20:7ff, I Cor. 11:17ff). We strive to do the same. |
