Real Hope in the

Real World

Text Box: God has graced with the opportunity to serve Him for another year, and here at FCC, we’re going to shoot right out of the gate! We are at a crucial point in the ministry of our church. In 2008, we were blessed to have Marvin Campbell come and serve as a discipleship minister, we saw Don Battle become ordained and begin serving as associate minister, we saw the Tree of Life school become part of our ministry, and we developed a 3-Year Strategic Plan to help us plan for near future! Well, the future is now!
The plans for 2009 are listed below…

   Discipleship
Determine the FCC “Spiritual Growth” Path
Offer “Phase 1” Path Courses
Emphasize Discipleship in Current Ministries
Children/ Family
Build an 8-Teacher Team for Children’s Church
Make “Kid Packs” for 5th Sundays
Reach Out to Bless Tree of Life Families
Worship
Upgrade the Music Minister Position
Develop Youth Choirs (children’s and teen’s)
Begin a Regularly Scheduled Prayer Service
Pastoral Care
Organize Shepherding System
Develop Follow-Up System for Newcomers
Evaluate Current Benevolence Ministry System
Communications
Overhaul Church Website
Buy New Microphones and a Monitor
Improve Communication among All Ministries
Outreach
Establish the Prison Ministry
Take Mission Trip to New Orleans

Text Box: Property
Begin Feasibility Study for a Multi-Purpose Building
Remodel Nursery
Remodel Bathrooms

Of course, we hope to see all of these items come to fruition during the year, but even if all of them do, some won’t get serious attention until later in the year, so let’s focus on what is already at hand.
In the area of Discipleship, we’ve already scheduled “Phase 1” course for the “Spiritual Growth” Path here at FCC. Beginning Saturday, January 17th, a class on the N.T. Book of Acts will be offered from 9-11 am. This class can be taken for college credit through Carolina Christian College, and I am very excited to see this partnership develop! Beginning February 7th, a second class, “The Spiritual DNA of FCC at Brockhall” will also be offered, and it will run from 11 am until noon. This 6-week class will have no fees attached, and it will cover FCC’s history, beliefs, goals, and overall philosophy of ministry. This class will become a required course for new members in the years ahead, and so all current members of the church are encouraged to sit in on the class to ensure that you are fully informed about FCC’s past, present and future!
In the area of Children and Family, Pam Campbell and Sheryl Lewis have already been hard at work on the 8-week rotation for Children’s Church, and we’re almost there! How great would it be to see more men – and more couples – involved in this rotation? Children need as many godly examples in their lives as we can give them, and this is a great setting to pour into our young people’s lives! If you think this is an area of ministry that could stretch you in your spiritual growth, see Pam or Sheryl right away!
In the area of Worship we are in the process now of looking for a minister of music who can take the foundation that has been built by Sisters Allyn and Dena and build on it in such a way that our music ministry becomes increasingly effective in speaking to the hearts of both the members
